“Tuesday 4th” (January 1916)

Got up 9.0. Fetched. Washing things up. Breakfast. Cleared and folded bed things. Stories. Club money. Lard. Rump steak. Mr. Jones called to say her flesh had forgiven her maingre. Had supper called dinner. Faie etc. Went down to boots. Faie bought me ointment 2 shillings/9 pence. Fed animals. Sewed buttons of Fiae’s trousers. Raining. Tea. Practised. Fetched. Star stilton any. Made all bear. Made coffee. Read the Girl in Grey. Faie at Children’s party club. Bed 11.30

“Wednesday 5th” (January 1916)

Got up. Ready. Practised until dinner time. Fed animals. Changed. Isabel came 2.30. We sat in the dining room all afternoon looking at album. Tea. Pears, custard, cake etc. Met Jack at Moorhead 6.30. Went to Albert Hall. Grana pictures. “Midnight at Mordens.” Saw Stories of Fulwood. Came home in same car. Supper. Biscuits, cheese, pudding etc. Bed. Isobel and I slept in Dennis’ bed. Turn bed 12.0.
