The Star Picture House

The painting below shows the Star Picture House on Ecclesall Road where George and his friends or family used to watch films and the tram shown on this painting is now long gone from this street. The pictures below show the Star Picture House at different time periods but, the building itself was closed as a cinema on 17 January 1962. The building was then used as a Bingo Hall for a time until 1984 when it was subsequently demolished in October 1986 and the area where it used to be, there now stands a Petrol Station.
