Young Street

The picture below is a painting of Young Street which was opposite St Silas School and this area is where the Electric Sub-Station is now. Photographs below this show the area in different time periods including present day. This picture shows one of Broomhall’s many lost streets when they made way for the ring road in the 1960s and the Electric-Sub Station was built on that area. The fifth photograph is a present day picture from 2014 taken from the Hanover Tower Block, which shows the area where the street shown in the painting of Young Street would have been.
