Mavis Hamilton has been involved in the Broomhall community for over 30 years. Despite personal tragedies, she was instrumental in setting up the Broomhall Carnival which for several years celebrated the area’s Afro Caribbean, creative and musical cultures on the local streets. She also has a unique personal insight into the ups and downs of life in Broomhall during this time.
