Community Saving with the Credit Union

A poem by Susan Woodbine

Large enough to cope

Small enough to care

Robust in all Weathers

For the skint we are there

In a corner of the local hall

In the midst of a jolly coffee morning

Next to the bric-a-brac stall

Daft enough to volunteer

Leaflets, loans, savings,

Debt management,

That’s what goes on.

Shh! We can keep secrets

We are the local credit union

(Written when Susan was a member of the Broomspring Writer’s Workshop)
